Howdy! My name is Sean – thanks for checking out my website! It’s pretty, huh?? I built it myself. That’s how things go around here, basically everything you see I created myself. That’s not to say that I haven’t had a tremendous amount of help along the way – but, what I am saying, is that there’s no layers between me and you. No corporations. No social media teams. No filters.

I’m not a seamstress of prose, stitching together a turn of phrase to later be conjured and recited by intellectuals smugly belittling those around them. Go read Sartre. However, I believe in the purpose of my writing. The points are valid. The stories exploit and reinforce our beliefs, desires, and emotions. I want them to move you – and I hope that they have.

In my daily life, I often wonder if I’m real. Like many, I think I’ve fortified myself so profoundly that I’m no longer able to feel. Then I write. The world begins to make more sense. I laugh. I cry real wet tears when Stevie, well... These stories are proof that I’m alive, and I hope they remind you of your humanity too.

Kind of a Douche

Creating an About Me page is torture.

With that said, I wouldn’t say that I’m successful. Professionally, I’ve had some really cool jobs but nothing I’d consider a career. They’re more like good stories to tell at the bar. I don’t think I’ve sold enough books to consider being "an Author" my career. I'd like that though – maybe someday with your help?

Moving forward, I’ve discovered that I only have so much bandwidth. The first two decades felt like my writing was a jack-of-all-trades. Now I just want to write good stories... Yeah, that's cool – but, like – who am I? Well, I'm not overly complicated. At this point I lead a calm and predictable life. I've withdrawn into things I can control. I have a dog. I work on my house in Maine – a lot. I take care of my mum. And, you know, I continue to try to write good stories.
